September 12th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – Regional leaders including UN diplomats have urged President Salva Kiir and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny to committe themselves to the full implementation of the revitalized peace agreement signed this evening in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.
South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny this evening signed the long-awaited revitalized peace agreement along with other opposition leaders.

“This agreement is not self-executing. You must show commitment and not allow a single drop of blood to flow during its implementation,” he said.
The outgoing JMEC Chairman Fetus Mogei said he had left behind behind a conducive environment for the peace implementation urging the parties to cease the opportunity to fully implement the agreement.
“I leave behind a viable and well equipped JMEC South Sudan secretariat. parties should not squander this opportunity for peace,” he said.
For his part, the Special Representative of the Secretary General, David Shearer says the agreement is still lacking trust to be implemented urging for collective support from regional and international partners.
“Key ingredient still lacking is trust. It is incumbent upon us all to support the implementation of this agreement,” he said.
