January 12th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The leader of the SPLM Former Detainees team who has been in Juba since December has left the country for Kenya expressing gratitude for what she called a “wonderful” reception by the government of Salva Kiir Mayardiit.

Speaking to reporters at Juba International Airport, Garang expressed happiness for the government of President Salva Kiir Mayardiit for accepting to work with the opposition again.

“I thank president Kiir for the extraordinary decisions he took to accept working with the opposition again,” she told reporters on Saturday.

“I also want to express my gratitude for the wonderful reception granted to us by the government since we came in December,” she added.

Under regional pressure,  South Sudan government and opposition groups signed a revitalized version of a 2015 peace agreement which collapsed more than two years early.

The agreement came after months of intense negotiations among delegates of the parties who only had until August 5th to mend all gaps and reach a preliminary deal.
