Prominent Nuer spiritual leader undergoes operation in Juba

August 5th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – Prominent Nuer Spiritual leader, Mut Turoah Nyewei, has been admitted at a hospital in the capital Juba where he underwent a medical operation according to several sources and his own son.

Sources said the spiritual leader arrived in the capital Juba from Mayom county on Saturday afternoon and was received by the Unity State government Nguen Manytuil Wijang and the country’s health minister Dr. Riek Gai Kok.

One source told the Nyamilepedia that the powerful spiritual leader underwent the operation for unknown medical condition.

“Yes that is true, Gat-Turoah is here in Juba. He arrived yesterday from Mayom and he successfully undergone the medical operation,” the source said while declining to revealed the medical condition from which the spiritual leader suffered.

For his part, Gatkuoth Mut Turoah, the son of the powerful spiritual leader who is also the spokesman for the SSUM, the splinter group led by Peter Gatdet Yak, said in a statement sent to the Nyamilepedia that his father has been admitted at Freedom Hospital in Juba thanking the government for the ‘tireless effort’ to bring him to Juba.

“On behalf of The family and on my own behalf I would like to take this golden opportunity to extend our gratitude and appreciation to the government of South Sudan under the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit for their tireless efforts to bring Bul -Nuer Spiritual leader Mut Turoah Nyewey to freedom hospital-in South Sudan capital Juba today for treatment,” Gatkuoth said.

He said the spiritual leader was brought from Bul-South county to Juba for treatment.

“Gatdeng was brought from Bul-south County to Juba for better treatment and he is admitted now in freedom international hospital,” he said.

However Gatkuoth did not disclose what medical condition his father suffered from.
