President Kiir to work with churches “to restore peace”

Jan 05, 2021(Nyamilepedia) — Assuring churching after meeting religious leaders, South Sudan President, Salva Kiir, said that he will work with the churches to restore peace and hope to the people of South Sudan.

In a statement, the Executive Director in the Office of the President Hon. James Deng Wal said that the president made the remarks during a meeting with the religious leaders from the Presbyterian Church who had gone to convey their message of New Year.

“H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit told the religious leaders of Presbyterian Church that he will work with the churches in all capacities to restore peace and hope,” Hon. James Deng Wal in a statement.

According to the statement, the Presbyterian Church for South Sudan and Sudan moderator said that Reverend James Makuei Choul assured the president that the church will work with him to restore peace in the country.

“The Moderator of Presbyterian Church for South Sudan and Sudan Right Reverend James Makuei Choul Said that they assured H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit that the Church will continue to work for peace and restore back hope to the people of South Sudan,” the statement continued.

The statement further said that the president urged the church to carry out their Church activities without any political interferences.
