Oct 1, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan’s president Salva Kiir received letters of credentials from the newly accredited ambassadors from Japan and European Union to South Sudan in the capital, Juba.
The reception of the new ambassadors to South Sudan was witnessed by the Minister of Presidential Affairs, Nhial Deng Nhial, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Beatrice Khamisa Wani and the Executive Director in the Office of the President, James Deng Wal, at the State House on Thursday.
According to the press office of President Kiir, the two ambassadors, who officially delivered their credentials to the President, were Naohiro Tsutsumi, Ambassador of Japan to South Sudan and Christian Bader, head of the European Delegation to South Sudan.
In a press statement after the accreditation ceremony, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International cooperation, Beatrice Khamisa said that the Government of South Sudan through its various institutions notably the Office of the President and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will fully support and facilitate the missions of the accredited Ambassadors in the view of strengthening the relations between the Republic of South Sudan and their respective countries.
The newly accredited Japanese and European Union Ambassadors to South Sudan expressed their confidence of receiving cooperation and support from the Government of South Sudan.
According to president Kiir’s spokesman, Ateny Wek Ateny, they new ambassadors promised to exert more efforts into fostering bilateral relationships between the two countries.
“They emphasized that they will exert efforts to foster strategic relations between South Sudan and their respective countries and work for a common interest in the fields of economy, peace and security in South Sudan.” Read part of the statement from President Kiir’s office.
