President Kiir meets Sudanese leaders in Juba

Nov 09, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan president, Salva Kiir Mayardit, met a Sudanese delegation comprising of members of Sudan’s Sovereign Council led by Prof. Siddig Taour Kafi Aburas today in Juba, South Sudan.

Speaking to the media after meeting president Salva Kiir, the Sudanese officials appreciated Salva Kiir leadership in mediating their differences.

“Prof. Siddig Taour commended H.E, President Salva Kiir for the role he has played in bringing Sudanese Political spectrum to Peace Agreement and for continuing mediation of the holdout opposition groups of SPLM- North of General Abdul Aziz al-Hilu and SLM of Abdel Wahid Nur into the Sudan’s Peace process.” Said President Kiir’s press office.

Professor Siddig Taour added that they also discussed the importance of strengthening the strategic relations between South Sudan and Sudan in various fields.

Sudan, which is currently going through a two year transition, has been negotiating peace with the oppositions in Juba, South Sudan, until October 3, 2020 when they signed a comprehensive peace agreement.
