President Kiir meets South Sudan ambassador to US and Representative to UN

March 17, 2021(Nyamilepedia) — President Salva Kiir Mayardit held a meeting with Permanent Representative of South Sudan to the United Nations, Akuei Bona Malual and South Sudan ambassador to United States of America, Philip Jada Natana on Wednesday where he was briefed on on the way forward on how to engage with the new US administration of President Joe Biden.

In a statement released by the office of the president, Ambassador Akuei Bona said, they came to seek directives and strategy from H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit on how to engage the new US administration especially being the people who know South Sudan and its leadership.

Ambassador Akuei Bona said they have also reported to H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit, the situation of the missions, staff and South Sudanese Embassies in the foreign Countries and H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit responded that he is fully aware of the situation and promised to resolve their situation very soon. 

South Sudan ambassador to the United States of America, Philip Jada Natana said that with the new US administration, there is an opportunity to work on the bilateral issues especially on the issues of peace implementation. 

The statement said that Ambassador Philip Jada described the meeting as fruitful.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Presidential Affairs Hon. Nhial Deng Nhial.
