May 20th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The National Pre-transitional Committee (NPTC), the body tasked with the implementation of South Sudan’s peace agreement, has directed the relocation of peace delegates from the current expensive hotels there are being accommodated in the capital Juba to cheaper ones, a senior government official said.

South Sudan government in September 2018 signed a revitalized version of a 2015 peace deal with opposition groups to end the ongoing five-year-old civil war which has killed almost half a million and displaced millions from their homes.

Information minister Michael Makuei Lueth said the body, in compliance with financial measures aimed at making the body financially strong, has decided to relocate opposition delegates to cheaper hotels in Juba.

The committee was directed to complete the movement of those who are accommodated in the hotels to other cheaper places,” Makuei said.

It also agreed that the accommodation of the NPTC and all its mechanisms should all be in South Sudan hotel,” Makuei added.
