The members, including Quarter Council chiefs from the blocks in Gudele residential areas and the Gudele Division Police Chief, agreed that they will be meeting twice a month to brief and identify security issues within their areas and try to find solutions to address them by working together as partners under the South Sudan National Police Service and community policing programme.
“I am happy that Police has identified areas with criminal activities and are taking action to post more Police personnel to such areas. This is very reassuring for the women and girls,” said Awad James, a resident from Gudele residential area Block9.
Gudele is one of the residentials areas that are still occupied by the Nuer Ethnic group and one of the areas where fighting broke out in July this year.
At least a few murder cases have been reproted here involving police and members of national security, however, it is yet to be investigated if such cases were targeted or not.
