October 23rd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan parties to the revitalized peace agreement determined to form the Reconstituted Transitional Government of National Unity (R-TGoNU) in November will conduct ministerial portfolios allocation next week, a source with knowledge said.

On Sunday, two main opposition groups, SPLM-IO led by Dr. Riek Machar and NDM led by Dr. Lam Akol, said they will not participate in the government Kiir said he will form on November 12th.

This, the groups said, is because outstanding tasks need to be implemented before the parties could form the 36-month long unity government to ensure a stable government lasts to organize elections at the end of its tenure.

Speaking to Nyamilepedia on Wednesday, a source in Juba said the TGNU, some members of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA), Former Detainees (FDs) and Other Political Parties (OPP) will sit between Monday and Wednesday to conduct allocation of ministerial portfolios.

“This process of ministerial portfolios allocation will be conducted next week and maybe on Monday,” the source told the Nyamilepedia from Juba.

“The government, some members of SSOA, FDs and other political parties will sit and decide who will take who,” the source added.
