July 19th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudanese parties in the Sudanese capital Khartoum are expected to sign a peace deal today despite a surprise visit by the Egyptian President Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi to the Sudanese capital, official told the Nyamilepedia on Thursday.
On Tuesday, the Sudanese mediation said the South Sudanese parties have agreed to a peace proposal it has presented on Wednesday and that they are expected by the Sudanese mediation to sign a deal by Thursday.
A senior opposition official loyal to the South Sudan government said they had been informed by the mediation that the signing ceremony will take place this evening despite a visit by the Egyptian president
“We have been informed that the visit by President http://www.flomaxbuyonline.com Sisi will not affect the schedule and as such we will sign peace today, according to what they tell us, not me,” the official told the Nyamilepedia this afternoon on the condition of anonymity.
For his part, Pout Kang Chuol, the SPLM-IO Youth League chairman and also a member of the SPLM-IO negotiating team told the Nyamilepedia from the Sudanese capital Khartoum this afternoon that he is not sure whether the peace will be signed today.
He said the signing was initially scheduled for 1:30 and would be rescheduled to 5 which he said is still to happen.
“It [signing of the peace agreement] was supposed to be 1:30 [PM] but push to five [5:00 PM] and we are not sure if it will really happens,” Kang told the Nyamilepedia.Â
