June 23rd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s parliament is in a process to hold discussion on the alleged mistreatment of South Sudan nationals in Egypt, a lawmaker at the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA) said on Saturday.
In recent weeks, South Sudanese national residing in Egypt said they were concerned because they said they feels not protected by the Egyptian government as human organs trafficking has scared everyone in the South Sudanese community there.
Speaking to the Nyamilepedia in the capital Juba on Saturday, a lawmaker at the TNLA said on the condition of anonymity that a number of lawmakers from the Foreign Relations Committee has filed a debate about the unfolding situation of South Sudanese in Egypt.
The lawmaker who is also part of the group pushing for discussion said they have been alarmed by the news of organ trade against South Sudanese and the concerns that they are not being protected by the Egyptian government.
“It is very unfortunate and we are alarmed by this disturbing practice against our people in Egypt,” the lawmaker said on the alleged human organs trade against South Sudanese in Egypt.
“We have proposed that the parliament discuss this issue and after that we will write to the government about an appropriate action to spare these people (South Sudanese),” the lawmaker added.
