December 6th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – A South Sudan opposition leader has returned to the capital Juba after reports that he has given up on the ongoing implementation of the peace agreement signed with the government last year.
South Sudan Liberation Movement/Army (SSLM/A) leader General Bapiny Manytuil who was in Khartoum returned to Juba on Friday to dismiss the allegations, according to a spokesman allied to him.
“The South Sudan Liberation Movement (SSLM) Chairman Lt. Gen. Bapiny Manytuil Wecjang arrived back to Juba today,” Brig. Gen Saif Khamwina Gatluak, a spokesman for the SSLM, told Nyamilepedia this morning.
“There were a lot of allegations about his absence from Juba. He went to Khartoum and the allegations were that he geared out of R- ARCSS Implementation,” he added.
He said General Bapiny “is a part and parcel of R-ARCSS signatories. He do not have to ask the permission of anyone to leave Juba to prove he is working for peace.”
