May 25, 2022 — South Sudan’s Minister of Petroleum Puot Kang Chol is hoping that the Unified Human Resources Policy Manual, which he signed four months ago with foreign oil companies, will be put to practice.
In February this year, Minister of Petroleum, Hon. Puot Kang Chol and foreign partners, signed a policy manual aimed to unify all salaries between foreigners and nationals working in oil companies.
In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia this morning, Minister Kang says he met with the leadership of the three-joint operating companies and he has directed them to implement the Unified Human Resources Policy Manual-2020.
“…This morning, I chaired a meeting with the leadership of the three Joint Operating Companies”,Minister kang stated in a statement obtained by Nyamilepedia.
“.. I gave them directives on the implementation of the UHRPM – 2020, Payment of the new Unified Basic salaries, the Unified Grading System and the partner’s manpower Tariffs in JOCs of D-POC, G-POC & S-POC respectively”, he added.
He said he also briefed the nationals on the same note he agreed upon with foreign partners.
“.. I also held another meeting with the South Sudanese National Staff working in the Oil Companies (JOCs) and gave them almost a similar briefing on the new agreement between the FP & MoP”, Kang emphasized.
According to the Minister, the Foreign Partners have all signed the Policy Manual and there is no doubt that the policy will work, adding that “it’s a big win”.
