November 20,2021—The office of the Central Equoria State’s Governor is denying reports that Governor Emmanuel Adil has been summoned by President Kiir over his recent decision.
In a statement, Derrick Derrickson, the Press Secretary in the office of Governor Adil refutes summon allegations and terms it as “Propaganda of higher order”.
“Following the ongoing cheaply designed propaganda by some hired elements which has just culminated from the sacking of Mayor Kalisto Lado,I would like to categorically make the following crystal clear before the general public;
” This is a propaganda of highest order ever as cheaply propagated by the hired elements to advance their selfish interest as known by many already”, Derrick says in a statement.
He argued that it was Governor’s prerogative to discharge his Gubernatorial duties normally without any of the purported summon as propagated by what he called “disgruntled camp”
“The decision of Governor Emmanuel is duly taken as it is within his prerogative to appoint and dismiss any appointee by him(like the mayor now, no cause of alarm in whatsoever way as the propagandists are trying to put it”, he added in a statement.
On 18th of November 2021, Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has issued a Gubernatorial Decree and fired Mayor Kalisto Lado Faustino without stating any clear reason.
Many Facebook users criticized the decision and calls for the immediate reinstatement of the fired mayor.
