September 10th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The governor of Northern Liech State for the South Sudan government Dr. Joseph Nguen Manytuil has accused the First Vice President Taban Deng Gai of attempting to take his life during a failed assassination attempt.
On Saturday night, a group of unknown gang tried to kill Manytuil when they throw a hand propelled grenade between Juba’s Round About and the Gudele neighborhood.
In a phone call to the President on Saturday night according to one of his aides, the governor reportedly told the President that his deputy was responsible for the foiled plot to kill him.
“Your excellency, your first deputy was responsible for attempting to take my life according to the information I have from the investigators who apprehended one of the criminals,” he reportedly told the President.
He said the apprehended criminal told the investigators that they were 10 when they attacked the governor and were paid by the First Vice President to kill me.
“He (the apprehended criminal) said they were about ten paid by the First Vice President Taban Deng Gai to kill me and we are still looking for the rest,” he added.
He appealed to Presifent Kiir to also conduct his own investigation to find out whether the FIrst Vice President have a hand in the plot to kill him.
“So I am appealing to you to really find out by your own investigation whether this has anything to do in fact with the First Vice President or not,” he said.
