This order was made by the Upper Nile State governor Budhok Ayang Kur adding that they will be expected to assume office this week.

“I want you all to go back to the state. The oath-taking will be administered in Malakal town so you must all go to Malakal so that you assume offices,” he said.

The governor said that the State is in crisis as the civil population in Upper Nile has suffered and that they need services.

“Our situation in Upper Nile is different from the rest of the country. We are in crisis. So let us unite so that we resolve the suffering of our people,” he stressed.

The state deputy governor, James Tor Monybuny, said necessary arrangements have been made ahead of the oath-taking ceremony in Malakal in the coming week.

The state official assured citizens of Upper Nile State that they will be provided with all the needed services.

The officials were appointed last month by President Salvar Kiir Mayardit in his quest to form local governments.

The officials, however, have yet to assume duties.
