October 24th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s opposition group, National Democratic Movement (NDM), has denied reports that its leader Dr. Lam Akol is being convinced to join unity government President Kiir said will form on November 12th.
On Thursday, rumors said some members of South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) who intends to participate in the unity government expected on November 12th were conducting talks with Dr. Lam to convince him to join the government.
However, speaking to Nyamilepedia this afternoon, Lawrence David Lual, the NDM spokesman who currently represents the group in Juba said there is no any such thing taking place to convince Dr. Lam to join the government formation in November.
“Am the one representing NDM now in Juba and there’s nothing like that,” Lual said.
When asked whether some of the SSOA will not participate in the government, Lual answered: “We don’t know yet but it depends on their interests. Some of them will soon join our call.”
The opposition official further said Dr. Lam has travelled to Khartoum and would remain there until things are clear.
