Nationality and Passports printing resumes after nearly two years suspension.

August 1, 2021 — The printing of National Identification cards and travel documents has resumed after it muted for almost two years.

The long awaited process resumed after many citizens, especially students seeking admissions to higher educational institutions in foreign countries, expressed dissatisfaction over Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Immigration. 

The long delays frustrated many citizens who could not travel due to lack of passports and travel documents

In a statement obtained by Nyamilepedia, the Ministry of Interior has announced plans to resume issuance of national identification cards and passports after nearly two years of suspension.

Atem Marol Biar, the Director General for Nationality, Passport and Immigration, says the directorate is expecting more than twenty thousand blank cards and more than 3,000 passports to resume printing the documents.

Hon. Biar said the company contracted has indicated that the shipment will be arriving in Juba in the next few days.

“Nationality Certificates and Passports printing resumes after more than a year of no printing due to lack of “Cards”, Biar announced in a statement.
