NAS refuses to send it’s delegates to Addis Ababa in preparation to sign peace deal

September 12th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The National Salvation Front (NAS) led by led by former SPLA deputy chief of staff Gen. Thomas Cirilo Swaka has refused to its delegates to the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to take part in the signing ceremony of the final revitalized peace agreement, a spokesman for Cirilo’s group have said.

South Sudan’s President,  Salva Kiir Mayardiit and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar as well as other opposition leaders are in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa in preparation to a sign the agreement.

In an exclusive interview with the Nyamilepedia on Wednesday, Wazir Michael Liah, the NAS’s deputy spokesman said they have refused to send their delegates to Addis Ababa to sign what he termed as “fragile” peace agreement

“The NAS leadership did not send its delegation to Addis Ababa to participate in signing the fragile peace agreement and therefore our delegation is not part of the opposition alliance,” he said.

Asked whether they have withdrawn from the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA), Wazir said they are only not ready to sign the agreement with the SSOA.

“No, but we refusea to participate in signing the so-called peace agreement with the Alliance,” he added.
