October 6th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The National Salvation Front (NAS) faction led by General Khalid Butrus is calling for the formation of the Reconstituted Transitional Government of National Unity in November amid differences over the matter.
The call came after the issue triggered debate in the country with other opposition groups such as Dr. Lam Akol’s NDM and Machar’s SPLM-IO calling for the postponement of the formation of the government to a date beyond November 12.
In contrary, Salva Kiir’s government wants the government formed on November 12 as agreed by the parties in a meeting in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa in May.
Speaking to Nyamilepedia on Sunday, Jacob Lado Paul, the spokesman for the NAS faction said although he expects differences between the parties on the matter, there is need for the unity government to be formed on November 12th.
“NAS led by Lt. Gen. Khalid Butrus is part of SSOA, but yes as November 12 is approaching there may emerge differences on formation of R-TGONU because of the number of states, security arrangement and boundaries of some states,” Lado said.
“But to my personal view these outstanding issues should not be considered as setback. It can be resolved after formation of R-TGONU.”
“I spent 8 months in Juba, l deeply experienced how our suffering population are seriously yearning for permanent Peace.”
