March 22, 2022 — South Sudan’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hon. Manawa Peter Gatkuoth traveled to the Republic of Senegal on Sunday, according to the ministry’s Press Secretary office.
The Minister’s Press Secretary, Gattiek Wichar, said Hon. Gatkuoth traveled to Dakar, Senegalese on Sunday, March 20, 2022 and was accompanied by senior staff from his Ministry.
Speaking to Nyamilepedia, Mr. Wichar said Hon. Gatkuoth went to Dakar to take part in Water World Forum where he would spend at least seven days .

Gatkuoth went to Senegalese capital, Dakar for seven-day visit in order to attend the World Water Forum in order to discuss issues pertaining Water Cooperation and exchange experiences with other distinguished leaders and counterparts “, Mr. Gattiek Wichar the Press Secretary of Minister Manawa told Nyamilepedia from South Sudanese Capital Juba.
According to Wichar, Gatkuoth was accompanied by Hon. Bonguot Amum Okech, the Chairperson of the Specialized Committee of Water Resources and Irrigation at Reconstituted Transitional Legislative Assembly (R-TNLA), Hon.Yar Paul, the Managing Director of the Urban Water Corporation, and other technical staff in the Ministry.
“.. Hon. Minister was seen-off by Eng. Nhial Peter Riek, the Executive Director in the office of Hon. Minister”,Mr. Wichar stressed.
Two weeks ago, Manawa Peter travelled to the Egyptians’ capital, Cairo and met with his counterpart Dr. Mohamad Abdel Aty.
Manawa said his visit to Cairo was to hold follow-up discussions on the progress of the projects signed between the two sisterly countries in the field of Water Cooperation.
Gattiek Wichar the Press Secretary confirmed that the Egyptian government will provide four barges at the end of March to re-open rivers in Unity State and Barh El-Ghazal Basin.
