October 6, 2021—The National Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hon. Manawa Peter Gatkuoth and other government visited the Internally Displaced Persons in the capital, Juba.
Speaking to Nyamilepedia this morning, a senior government official who requested not to be identified said the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation made it to IDPs camp yesterday in order to access the humanitarian situation and health sanitation of the IDPs.
“Hon. Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hon. Manawa Peter has visited camp yesterday along with high-level delegation from government and Ministry of Water and their mission is to evaluate the humanitarian situation of the displaced population”, Senior official told Nyamilepedia.
“The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hon. Manawa Peter Gatkuoth Accompanied by Dr. Victory Anib Majur the Undersecretary of the National Ministry of Health, And Mr. Lornas Akol Director General of Planning of Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and Eng. Chut Isaac, Eng. Nhial Peter office manager at the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation”, he added.
Dr. Victory, the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health promised the IDPs that the Ministry of Health will provide basic healthy services.
Mr. Lornas, the General director of Planning at the Ministry of Health, said the Ministry will try their best to communicate the needs to Humanitarian Agencies to help the IDPs.
“The government delegation inspected the Health Facility and WC “, Mr. Lornas emphasized.
According to Lornas, the people in POC expressed their gratitude and appealed to the government to fully implement the peace agreement in letter and spirit for the citizens to return back to their residential areas without fear.
“They have lack of water inside POC, Hon Minister give them water distribution system to cover part of the area” Eng. Nhial Peter, Office Manager at the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation told Nyamilepedia.
According to Nhial, Hon. Manawa promised the IDPs that he will visit them again together with the Minister of Health and Minister of Humanitarian affairs as well as minister of land and housings.
