Minister of environment and forestry pledges to plant 100 million trees

June 16,2021 – South Sudan ministry of the environment and forestry Honorable Josephine Napwon Cosmos said her ministry will launch projects of 100 trees and introduce other giant projects.

This came after Minister Cosmas met Mr. President Salva Kiir on Wednesday in his office. 

According to a statement seen by Nyamilepedia on the Presidential press unit on wednesday 16th June 2021- environment Minister Cosmos briefed His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit on a number of activities and projects being undertaken by her Ministry. 

Speaking  to the media after the meeting, Hon. Josephine Napwon Cosmos said that during the occasion, her Ministry is going to launch a project of 100 million trees and introduce other major projects under her Ministry and stated that the president will be on the occasion. 

“I extended an invitation to H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit to attend the occasion marking the commemoration of World Environment Day that is scheduled to take place tomorrow on 17th June 2021 in Freedom Hall Juba”, Cosmas said on Wednesday. 

Meanwhile, President Salva Kiir Mayardit acknowledged and commended Hon. Josephine Napwon Cosmos for her hardwork and accepted the official invitation to grace the occasion.
