July 14th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – A man was killed after a lioness attacked him yesterday in the deep forest of Upper Nile’s Maban county, several sources told the Nyamilepedia  today from the Upper Nile territory.

The incident, according to one resident, occurred between Jamam and Maban town yesterday adding that the man was travelling alone.

“He was killed by the lion yesterday. He was travelling alone between Jamam and Maban town,” he said.

Another resident said the Lion was hesitant to run away when soldiers were approaching the scene of the incident saying gun shots had to be fired in the air to scare off the lion.

“The lion[ess] did not want to run away when the soldiers came. It wanted to continue because it was so hesitant to leave. The soldier would first fire in the air before he could escape,” the resident said.
