February 5th 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s former army chief and leader of South Sudan United Front (SSUF) has denied reports that he met the country’s intelligence chief Gen. Akol Koor in Nairobi.

“It has been brought to our attention that the public is being bored by a mischievous information under the title “South Sudanese Intelligence Chief Akol Koor Secretly Met With SSUF leader In Nairobi,” circulating on WhatsApp and Facebook online platforms,” the student body for SSUF said in a statement extended to Nyamilepedia.

“First, the information alleges that The People’s Resistance Leader Gen. Paul Malong met South Sudan National Security Service Director, Mr. Akol Koor in Nairobi, Kenya to discuss Malong’s return to Juba.

“This is not true and it is hereby dismissed as false. The People’s Resistance Leader have no intentions of coming to Juba through shoddy deals that do not meet the aspirations of South Sudanese people. He is a busy party leader who have no time to meet every idler or tourist that comes to Nairobi.

“Second, the information alleges that The People’s Resistance Leader received an apology from Mr. Akol Koor. We equally dismiss this as false and misleading. General Paul Malong does not have any problems running personal with Salva Kiir or individuals in government.

“We strongly disagree with Juba regime’s bad policies that have economically and socially disempowered our people and further entrenched poverty, corruption and conflicts. As such the government should apologize to the impoverished people of South Sudan for these ills, and not Gen. Paul Malong alone as alleged.

“In conclusion, we urge our supporters and allies in the opposition to disregard the information in its form and shape as pure propaganda. All our engagements with Juba government are made available to the public through the ICT Department and the Office of the Spokesman. SSUF/A remain committed to the cause of bringing a durable peace, economic stability and good governance to South Sudan.”
