Sep 24, 2021 — Responding to reports of generals and their supporters, who defected to SPLM/A-IO of Dr. Riek Machar in Cairo, Egypt, the South Sudan United Front/Army denies knowledge of such leaders under Gen Paul Malong’s leadership.
The officers, who defected on September 17th, 2021 and declared allegiance to Machar through the SPLM/A-IO chapter’s office in Egypt, included Lt. Gen. Dr. Obac Walter Kuanjwok, Maj. Gen. Angelo Amum, Gen. Chuol Bilieu Kuach, among others.
According to their press release, they cited Malong’s  “lack of clear vision and mission within the movement”
Speaking to Nyamilepedia, Maj. Gen. Philip Deng Kuol Nguot, the deputy military spokesman of SSUF/A, dismissed the allegations saying they never have such members in their movement.
“The office of the SSUF/A Deputy Military Spokesperson would like to optimistically dismisses those unfounded names which never been our members as they climbed before their attering” Maj. Philip Deng Kuol Nguot said
“those are an individual’s in the tea stalls in Cairo who master-minded to be the SSUF/A partisans that would give them more respects from wherever they’re heading to as a plan. To be optimistic, the SSUF/A has no clue on having them in the rank and files.” He added.
According to Philip Deng, SSUF/A “has well known generals at the Headquarters and those on their deployments on the ground in South Sudan”.
He calls on their supporters and general public to dismiss such allegations and ignore such individuals.
“The office of the SSUF/A Deputy Military Spokesperson englitens the general public and our supporters to ignore those trending names on social media just as a seeking financial mechanism personnel.” He concludes.
