August 12, August— A senior member of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-In Opposition (SPLM-IO) led by Dr. Riek Machar Teny has today 12th of August 2021 abandoned the SPLM/A-IO camp and declared his allegiance to Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-In-Government under South Sudan’s President, Salva Kiir Mayardit.
This comes not less than one day after the second powerful opposition official of the SPLM/A-IO, Henry Odwar resigned his ministerial docket in the revitalized unity government and pledged his full support to Kitgwang declaration led by 1st. Lt. Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual who claimed to have ousted Dr. Machar from power last week.
In a statement extended to Nyamilepedia, Col. Narji Roman says today marks his last day as member of National Liberation Council and member of SPLM/A-IO under leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny who doubles also as the First Vice President.
“Dear all, I would like to inform public that as today the Agust 12, 2021 marks my last day as a member of the Sudan people liberation Movement in the opposition SPLM IO under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar as well as a member of the National Liberation Council after completing my duties towards my country and my people, and with this I would like to announce my return to the ranks of my colleagues in the government under the leadership of H.E President Salva Kiir Mayardit”, Nyarji said in a statement.
Col. Nyarji who served as Deputy Press Secretary in office of Chairman and Commander-In-Chief endorsed the decision made by Henry Odwar Deputy Chairman of the SPLM/A-IO to have joined Kitgwang declaration spearheaded by Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual.
“I am Adding my support and voice as a member of National Libration council and as a representative of my people of Rokon, Dolo and Koda To The bold decision made by the Deputy Chairman and Commander in Chief H.E Henery Adower for his full support and recognition of our New Intrem Chairman and Commander in Chief of the SPLM-IO General Simon Gatwech”, he stated on his official Facebook page.
“The full commitment to the peace agreement and the security arrangements, With this bold decision from the Deputy Chairman and senior members of the SPLM-IO I believe that the implementation of the peace agreement will inter to new Era of prosperity with full political will and commitment”,it added.
