September 11th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Soutth Sudan’s main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny will not return to Sudan, officials with direct knowledge have told the Nyamilepedia this morning.

Machar who was accompanied by Sudan’s deputy chairperson of Sovereignty Council Mohamed Hamdan Daglo who is also known as Hemeti arrived in Juba on Monday morning to meet President Kiir over stalled peace implementation.

He was supposed to return to Khartoum today but because a meeting on states number and borders initially scheduled for Tuesday was adjourned by the President because he had to meet foreign diplomats yesterday.

Speaking to Nyamilepedia on Tuesday, a SPLM-IO source in Juba said Machar will not return to the Sudanese capital today because he had a lot to do in Juba but he said the main armed opposition leader may return tomorrow.

“He will not return to Sudan today. He has a lot to do in Juba before he return to Sudan. He will return on Thursday afternoon,” the official said.

The Nyamilepedia has learned that Machar and Kiir will resume their meeting this afternoon.

This morning, the SPLM-IO director of information Puok Both Baluang told the Nyamilepedia that they were heading for a meeting called upon by the SPLM-IO leader saying the meeting between Kiir and Machar will resume in the afternoon or maybe in the evening.
