June 14th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s prominent opposition and SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny will travel to the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Monday ahead of the expected high-level face-to-face meeting with the South Sudanese president, Salva Kiir Mayardiit which is expected to take place on Wednesday next week.

The meeting will be first of its kind since the collapse of the peace agreement in July 2016 after clashes at the Presidential Palace in Juba that year.

Sources close to the former First Vice-President told the Nyamilepedia thus afternoon that Machar will travel on Monday for a preparatory meeting with the Ethiopian premeir ahead of the face-to-face talks between Machar himself and the South Sudanese President, Salva Kiir.

“His Excellency the Chairman will travel on Monday to Ethiopia for a preparatory meeting with Ethiopian leader before his meeting with president Kiir,” one source said from Pretoria.

Another source in Addis Ababa said preparations are under way for the reception of the rebel leader.

“Now preparation are underway for the arrival of the Chairman and Commander in Chief,” the source said.

Machar has been under a forced house arrest in Pretoria after the regional community decided to isolate him in hope that his isolation will help end the conflict back home but since then the war has continued.

In March 2018, the IGAD decided to “release him” but the planned release has some demands attached to it which the opposition said do not make sense.

The IGAD said Machar must first renounce violence in order to be relocated to one of the country outside the region (neighboring countries).

For their part, the opposition said their group under Machar has already signed a Cessation of Hostilities Agreement with the government; something they said shows their group is not interested in violent meant of solving the current crisis.

Wake up my people, wake give peace a chance, wake up my people know what’s life about us; wake up to the needs of all those suffer sorrow, wake up promise now to do your best tomorrow, wake up my people and open every door, wake up it’s time now love your people evermore.

1. All across the nation people are waiting, lonesome people are lonely, waiting hopefully, wake up to your people listen to their story, and as often as you do these things you do the same for me.
2. Living in our cities people are waiting, hungry people are starving but waiting hopefully, wake up to my people share their sorrow with them, and as often as you do these things you do the same for me.
3. You have exiled our people and deprived them of their land, sleeping in the open and in the sun give them their safety, and as often you do these things you do the same for me.
