June 23rd 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan main armed opposition movement, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) said on Saturday that its leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon who arrived in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Wednesday for a face-to-face meeting between him and the South Sudanese president Salva Kiir Mayardiit will today return to Pretoria after the Ethiopian leader asked him to go back.

The SPLM-IO Youth League Chairman Pout Kang Chuol told the Nyamilepedia on Saturday that Machar will board a plane back to the South African city of Pretoria “any time from today”.

Early, the SPLM-IO director of information Pouk Both Baluang, told the Nyamilepedia that Machar has been asked to go back to South Africa but could not confirm from the Ethiopian authorities the time of his departure.

“Yes that is true (that Machar will departs back to South Africa). We are yet to get the confirmation from the Ethiopian Authorities regarding the time of his (Dr. Machar) departure to South Africa,” he told the Nyamilepedia on Saturday.

The latest position by the Ethiopia Premeir is similar to a position by the South Sudanese government which wanted Machar go back to exile saying the government doesn’t want to repeat events similar to that of July 2016 in which guards belonging to Kiir and Machar clashed at a presidential palace in the national capital Juba.
