September 17th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s First Vice President designated Dr. Riek Machar Teny will be appointed to the second most powerful position in early December, sources attached to the South Sudan’s Presidency told the Nyamilepedia.

South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardiit and the main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny signed the long awaited final revitalized peace deal last week to end the five-year old brutal conflict.

A source at the South Sudan Presidency told the Nyamilepedia this afternoon that the President will appoint the revel leader in December to expedite the implementation of the agreement.

“The President will appoint Riek Machar in December. In early days on December, Machar will officially be the First Vice President and this is the government’s commitment to what has been reached in Addis Ababa,” the source told the Nyamilepedia on the condition of anonymity.

The same source denies social media rumors that the President is planning to bring in SPLA former Chief of Staff as Vice President.

The Transitional government of national unity is expected to be formed in April 2019 will serve a thrity-six months term before elections could be conducted.
