October 3rd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar has met a Sudanese official in the capital Khartoum and discussed cooperation between the two countries.
A statement by a SPLM-IO spokesman said Machar who is South Sudan’s First Vice President designate met Salwa Hassan Sadig, head of Sudan Academy for Communication Science and Media Rehabilitation in the Sudanese capital and discussed media cooperation.
“H.E. Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, Chairman and Commader in Chief of the SPLM/SPLA (IO) met on Wednesday, with Dr. Salwa Hassan Sidig Head of Sudan Academy for Communication Science and Media Rehabilitation in Khartoum, Sudan,” the statement signed by the SPLM-IO director of information and public relations Puok Both Baluang partly read.
“The meeting discussed prospects, plans and visions for media capacity-building and served as a stepping stone towards the development of media in South Sudan,” the statement added.
