March 13th 2019 ( Nyamilepedia) – The leader of the opposition Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO), Dr. Riek Machar Teny is reportedly not allowed to move beyond Khartoum until the formation of the revitalized TGONU, sources have claimed.

Senior South Sudan official on a visit to the Egyptian capital Cairo told the Nyamilepedia on Wednesday on the condition of anonymity that Machar’s movements are only confined to Khartoum until the unity government in Juba is formed.

“He is not allowed to move beyond Khartoum until he is appointed First Vice-President and the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity (R-TGONU) is formed,” the official said.

The opposition official said Machar was aware that he was moving to another confinement in Khartoum when he was released last May from a previous confinement in South Africa.

“He knew that he was moving to a new confinement in Khartoum. He was not released, he was just given a chance to participate in the peace process that was under initiation,” the source added.

Although the Nyamilepedia could not independently verify, several reliable sources told the Nyamilepedia that Machar is not allowed to move freely in the region until the formation of the new upcoming government.
