June 25, 2021 – South Sudan First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny has been invited by the Great South Sudan Run to attend the forthcoming Marathon scheduled on 9th of July 2021.
This comes after the delegation of the Great South Sudan Run South Sudan led by Ayesheshim Teka paid an official visit to the First Vice President in his office on Thursday 24th June 2021.
In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, the meeting discussed the forthcoming Great Run Marathon, scheduled to take place on July 9th, 2021 at Dr. John Garang Mausoleum.
Speaking to media to the media after the meeting, Mr. Ayesheshim Teka said, they briefed Mr. Machar on their programs for this year’s event which coincides with the 10th anniversary of South Sudan’s independence.
“Mr. Ayesheshim also said, they extended an invitation to Machar to attend the event”, it stated.
According to Great South Sudan Run, the Marathon is a peace initiative whose aim is to encourage unity, peace, and love among citizens in the country.
“The Great Run Marathon is a peace initiative aimed at promoting unity and co-existence in South Sudan,” the statement said.
