Machar, President Bashir arrives in Kampala for talks with South Sudan’s Kiir

July 7th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s prominent opposition and SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon and Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmed Alb–Bashir has arrived this morning in the Ugandan capital Kampala for a meeting with the South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardiit in a talks brokered by the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) aimed at ending the ongoing civil war in the young African nation, the Nyamilepedia has learned.

South Sudan’s President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit also arrived in the Ugandan capital as per a information by the South Sudan Presidency.

“Dr. Machar, President Omar Al-Bashir has arrived in Kampala. President Kiir has also just arrived and the two leader [Kiir and Machar] will hod a face-to-face meeting today in the state house to deliberate on other outstanding issues the negotiating teams didn’t tackled during the Khartoum meetings,” on source the Nyamilepedia on the condition of anonymity.

Early in the morning, South Sudan’s Presidency said in a statement seen by the Nyamilepedia that South Sudan’s leader, Salva Kiir Mayardiit, left Juba for Kampala for a two-day visit aimed at discussing the outstanding issues for the finalization of the South Sudan’s peace process which has been ongoing since last year in Addis Ababa.

“President Salva Kiir Mayardit left Juba for a two days State visit to Uganda, to meet Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to discuss finalization of the peace process currently underway in Khartoum,” the statement said.
