September 12th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny has met the IGAD Special Envoy for South Sudan Ismail Wais in Juba and discussed the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement.
The meeting between the two men came as Machar and Kiir discussed the same issue in which the two principals said they made a progress in their two-day meeting.
“I met with Dr. Riek Machar in Juba and discussed about the implementation of the pending tasks and the way forward of the R ARCSS agreement,” Wais wrote on his Twitter account.
Kiir and Machar signed a revitalized version of a 2015 peace agreement last year to end the ongoing civil war.
The agreement meant to end the suffering of the people of South Sudan is facing some difficulties according to the IGAD.
The two men have agreed to expedite the formation of the VIP protection force as well as to expedite the whole peace process.
