June 23, 2021 – South Sudan First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny has today Wednesday 23rd June 2021 officiated the launch of the symposium on federalism in the permanent constitution-making Process according to a statement from the Press Unit of the First Vice President obtained by Nyamilepedia.
Machar who is also the leader of the main opposition group has presided over the launch of the symposium on the Federalism in the Permanent Constitution-Making Process in South Sudan under the theme “Towards a Legitimate and Effective Federal Constitution Framework” today in Juba at Pyramid Hotel.
The program was attended by Ministers concerned, diplomats as well as representatives of stakeholders of the Revitalized Peace Agreement.
“The symposium launching was attended by Hon. Lasuba L. Wango, Minister of Federal Affairs, members of Diplomatic Corps and Missions in South Sudan; and representatives of the stakeholders of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS),” the statement reads.
“The Two-day symposium aims at discussing issues pertaining to the implementation of the federal system in South Sudan. The symposium is organized by the Ministry of Federal Affairs in conjunction with Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA), UN Women, United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)” it stressed.
