Sep 27, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan’s Maban county has been celebrating the return of one of their sons, Sila Joshua, who has been away for nearly 25 years.
Returning home both as an intellectual and a vibrant young politician, Sila was received in his hometown of Maban in a colorful homecoming party by hundreds of people.
According to the organizer of the events at least 2, 000 people turned out to his homecoming party celebration within the last one week.
“The main purpose of that event was the Homecoming celebration after 25 years of family separation” Sila said.
The main event, which lasted for almost 6 hours, was held on September 20,2020 at 1pm at Doro Church.
“Approximately 2000 people attended the Homecoming celebration. The attendees were mostly Mabaan elites” Said the organizer of the event.
Among the guest speakers at the event were Sila’s father Joshua Worga, youth chairman representative Walla Yassin, Al Ahmar Payam Chairman Musa James Khor, Assistant Commission for Refugees Affair Abuna Stephan, leader of the regional church councils in Maban County Pastor Andrew Nitta and a local Chief Sila Debo.
The event was attended by many relatives, intellectuals and politicians who are mostly members of the SPLM/A-IO.

Sila has been an active member of the SPLM/A-IO in Canada. He is the SPLM-IO Chapter Chairperson for London Ontario, Canada and a former SPLM/A-IO Youth League Coordinator in Canada.
At community level, Sila is the founder of the Maban Global Youth Foundation-Canada (2015-2019), and the founder of the Worga Foundation-Canada (2020).
He served in various positions that include Social Service Worker Supervisor, Environmental educator and IV/AIDs Counselor in the past.
He holds a diploma in Social and Community Service, and Certificates in Leadership and community engagement.
