June 9, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – A relative of Lual Marine, the killer of five civilians at Sherikat incident – has been arrested by the police after confessing to killing army captain, Manyang Chol Manyang, and preparations were being made to charge him, police officers at the center of the investigation have said from Juba.

The unnamed suspect is said to have killed Captain Manyang Chol Manyang at his residence in Juba following the death of Lual Marine from wounds he incurred during a standoff with protesters last week.

Manyang is a member of the Presidential guards.

“The suspect in the killing of Captain Manyang Chol has been identified,” a police officer said on condition of anonymity from the capital Juba.

“He said he is Lual’s relative and now preparations were being made to charge him,” he added.

Last week, a land dispute between the now deceased Lual Marine and a group of Bor family members led to the killing of nine people after Lual Marine’s Guard opened fire on the family killing three people on the spot.

Others – including Lual himself – died from wounds bringing the overall death toll to nine, according to the police.
