Jan 26, 2022 — Longechuk County Commissioner administration condemns in the strongest terms possible a report released by loyalists of the former Minister of Petroleum, Hon. Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth, on social media and other media outlets.
According to a document, signed by 28 officials from Longechuk county, the allegations by Col. David Ruei Gatkuoth, the elder brother of Lol Gatkuoth, are baseless, fake and falsely framed to fit sub-clans in Longechuk against one another.
“We, the team accompanying the Longechuk County Commissioner, Hon. Dak Tut Dei, being deputized by the Deputy Executive Director of the Longechuk County, Mr. Stephen Gier Yien, on the Peace Dissemination mission to five payams of: (1) Jak; (2) Udier; (3) Chotbora; (4) Dajo; and (5) Pachime. do hereby condemn the baseless and concocted allegations circulated by Col. David Ruei Gatkuoth (SSPDF) and Hon. Mat Ruon Wur (MP/RTNLA) on SOCIAL MEDIA and EYE Radio respectively in the strong terms possible.” Reads part of the report extended to Nyamilepedia.
“These acts are baseless, fake and are falsely framed to tarnish and condescend the image of the Longechuk County Commissioner.” The report continued.
According to Ruei Gatkuoth, Longechuk county commissioner, Hon. Dak Tut Dei, ordered a person from a different sub-clan known as Thiang-Baar to retrieve his cellphone after falling into a pit latrine and later arrested others over the same issue.
Responding to such allegations, Longechuk county administration denies such reports as faked news and should be disregarded.
“The false allegation made by antipeace elements that Hon. Dak Tut Dei has forced a person to retrieve his phone that has fallen into pit latrine, so as to humiliate Thiang–Baar from his administrations, is not true. Hon. Dak Tut Dei did not order any person to recover the phone that has fallen into pit latrine and didn‘t order any arrest as well.” Longechuk county administration said.
“It is worthy to note that among the senior SPLA–IO military officers who accompanied the team were Brig. Gen. Nhial Gatchay Wiw–Deputy CDR of Operations for SPLA–IO Infantry Division Five and Brig. Gen. Bol Gach Teny–Deputy CDR for Lieng Cantonment.” The report continued.
According to the county commissioner, he cannot order people from Thiang-Baar in attempt to humiliate them in front of senior generals from the same sub-clan.
“These two senior officers are sons of Thiang–Baar who cannot accept or condone their people being humiliated whatsoever as falsely alleged by Col. David Ruey Gatkuoth and Hon. Mat Ruon Wur on social media and Eye Radio respectively.” They said.Â
“Finally, we call upon all media houses to abide by their professional ethics based on true journalism and a such we request Eye Radio to disregard and dismiss fake and concocted allegations against the Longechuk County Commissioner once and for all.” The Longechuk county commissioner office added.
