London appoints new ambassador for South Sudan

February 20th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The United Kingdom (UK) appointed on Tuesday, the country’s special envoy for Sudan and South Sudan, Christopher Trott, as the new British ambassador to South Sudan.

Trott has been working as the Head of Joint Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) Department for International Development (DFID) Sudan Unit since 2016 as well as the London’s Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan.

Mr Trott who will replace Ms Alison Blackburne – who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment – is expected to take up his appointment during May 2019.
