Livelihoods disrupted in South Sudan due to limited food access – ICRC

August 6th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – As the lean season draws near, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) conducted risk assessments in different parts of the country and documented a number of households whose livelihoods were adversely affected as a direct result of food insecurity being experienced throughout the country.

A direct assessment carried out by the ICRC revealed that household food stocks are stretched in many parts of South Sudan and households have limited access to food sources, while livelihoods are disrupted,” said the aid agency in a statement.

According to the agency, buy clomid 100 mg some of the families assessed have been able to receive agricultural inputs in the form of seeds and tools, and that the humanitarian assistance will contribute significantly to improving their food production and supporting their resilience as well.

South Sudan civil war characterized by a sharp deterioration in humanitarian crises, has led the country’s population to situations in which they could not support their families through agricultural production.

In some cases, families have to skip meals or reduce the amount of food they eat on a daily basis.

The ICRC does not only provide humanitarian assistance in South Sudan but also guarantees protection and life-saving humanitarian assistance to war victims.
