June 10th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The leader of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement – North (SPLM-N) Malik Agar has condemned a decision by Sudanese authorities to deport detained members to South Sudan’s capital Juba on Monday.

Yasir Arman, the group’s deputy chairman, Ismail Jalab, the Secretary-General and Spokesman, Mubarak Ardol, were deported to Juba on Monday by the Sudanese authorities following their release hours early.

In a statement on Monday, Agar confirmed their release and their deportation to Juba, but condemned it and said it shows that the council is not ready to handover the power to a civilian authority.

Yasir Arman, the deputy chairman of the SPLMN together with the SG Ismail Khamis Jalab and the Spokesperson Mubark Ardol, have been released from the detention,” said the statement issued by Agar on Monday.

On the other hand [we] condemns the uncouth behavior of the TMC, which is a manifestation of the intentions of the TMC not to hand power to the civilians and not to reach peace,” he added.

He said following their release, the three were deported in a military airplane despite a rejection by them to be deported into another country that is not their own.

They were denied access to their accommodation [and] in contrary the TMC deported them against their will using, military airplane to Juba, this happened despite their rejection of the forceful deportation,” the rebel leader said.

The statement further expressed its appreciation and “thank[ed] the President and the government of South Sudan for the good reception and hospitality.”
