May 21, 2018(Nyamilepedia) —— Updates from the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa, where South Sudanese rivaling leaders have been holding talks in attempts to end the conflict in their country, shed hopes that a significant progress has been made especially in security sector.
According to the SPLM/A spokespersons, however, no significant progress was made and Juba again has to be blamed for any failure.
Speaking to media, Col. Lam Paul Gabriel, the SPLA[IO] Deputy Spokesperson said the governemnt delegation has failed the Faith Based group who volunteered to facilitate the last two days of negotiations.
“We are done with the church program. We thank them for trying their best even if the regime failed them. Time for business tomorrow with my best “Friends” IGAD.” Col. Lam Paul Gabriel said.
According to Col. Lam, the two main warring parties did not agree on security arrangement and subsequent integration of the armies.
While Juba is more interested in a security arrangement that would absorb the armed oppositions, the SPLM/A[IO] wants the SPLA-IG integrated into the SPLMA[IO] under Dr. Riek Machar Teny.
“Just to clear the air on security arrangements. Integration was not agreed upon. Salva kiir in 2014 admitted that 70% of the SPLA soldiers defected to Dr. Machar; so if integration is to take place, the balance from their 30% can be integrated to us and not the other way round.” Lam said.
Col. Lam, however, admits that the two warring factions have agreed to form a well-balanced national army of South Sudan.
“What was discussed was the unification of all the forces to form a well balanced National army, not tribal army.” Col. Lam Paul Gabriel said.
“Time frame for the unification was not unanimously agreed upon. Our delegates discussed 18 months and also 6 months. Both proposals have been forwarded to leadership for final deliberations.” Lam continued.
The warring parties have agreed on cantonment of their forces but details remain sketchy.
The Deputy Spokesman assures their supporters that their leaders will not sign a bad peace that favor their opponents in Juba again.
“We are here for genuine peace for all South Sudanese but not selfish tricks to favour those who fear Hybrid Court and ICC.” Lam Said.
The SPLM/A[IO] applause the Faith Based Group facilitation, however, the armed opposition is concern that the group was being threaten by the government delegation which could jeopardize their safety once they return to Juba.
“These efforts however, are undermined by the presence of a brutal state security apparatus in Juba, to which they must return and may be a victim of.” Said Mabior Garang De Mabior, the SPLM/A[IO] Chairperson for Information and public relations.

Dear all, Yes, May The Lord hear the cry of this citizen and their afflictions. Just do your very best and the rest will be for the Lord to fulfill it. You can work tirelessly but without God nothing can be achieved. Because all of this is his decision which I have no question about, when it is his turned to answer, he will make your effort fruitful. Yes, all of you should turn to Him and even pray continuously to the future outcome which is my only concerned as I see the future events. May He attends to your care and fulfill his promise he made for his servant sake.
