Lam Akol’s opposition group replaces spokesman

March 12th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The National Democratic Movement (NDM) led by prominent South Sudan opposition politician, Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin, has replaced its official in charge of the information secretariat of the movement.

In a statement issued on Monday, the outgoing NDM Spokesman, Mut Turuk, confirmed that he has been moved to a new assignment as the Chairperson of the group’s National Committee for Legal and Human Rights Affairs.

Turuk said in the same statement that his colleague, Lawrence David Lual, who is also a member of the National Leadership Council (NLC) has been moved to be the Chairperson of the Information Committee and the Spokesman of the group.

“In accordance with the resolutions of the National Executive Committee of the National Democratic Movement (NDM) in its meeting No. 53 concerning restructuring of the Movement structure, as from today, I will be in charge of Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee (LHRAs) while Cde David Lawrence Lual will be in charge of the Communications and official spokesman of the NDM in that capacity,” Turuk said in a statement seen by the Nyamilepedia.

“All communications concerning the office of the spokesman should be directed to him from now on,” he further said in the statement.

Lual for his part confirmed to the Nyamilepledia that he has been moved to a new assignment.
