August 15, 2021 — The leadership of the SPLA/SPLM-IO faction under the command of the 1st. Lt. Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual has welcomed the decision taken by the members of National Liberation Council and diaspora based politicians for switching their allegiance to Kitgwang declaration.
This comes after the leading members of Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-In Opposition(SPLM/A-IO) declared themselves to Gen. Gatwech including Deputy Chairman of the movement Henry Odwar who resigned from his ministry and also from the SPLM/A-IO of Dr. Riek Machar Teny.
In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, the SPLA-IO Military Spokesperson of Magenis faction, Brig. Gen. William Gatjiath Deng appreciates and welcomes what he called “a bold decision” taken by Chapter offices in diaspora, politicians and all well wishers of Magenis faction for their tremendous and unwavering support they have shown through declaration to the leadership of Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual.
“The SPLA (IO) office of information would like to inform all diehard supporters, Political Symphasizers, grassroot levels under the leadership of the interim Chairman and Commander in Chief (C-in-C) Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual, to welcome the movement’s cadres, especially Political Bureau (PB), National Liberation Council (NLC) members, and the SPLM/A (IO) Chapter leaders from both North America, and Australia for the bold decision they have taken and abolished the former leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon, and unanimously joined and wholeheartedly supported the (Kit-Gwang) declaration under the leadership of his Excellency, Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual”,The statement reads.
“Dear comrades, you are all welcome to your leadership with open heart and seated with revolutionary and jubilee spirit” Gatjiath added.
According to the statement, the declaration and support to the leadership of the SPLA/M_IO under Gen. Gatwech will put to an end the illusion and dictatorship not only in the region but also at international arena.
“The declaration you have just made purposely to support the (Kit-Gwang) declaration, has marked the end of the illusional empire and the dictatorship at the region, and the international watch”, the statement emphasized.
