March 4th 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan president, Salva Kiir, has warned, in a phone call, on Tuesday ex-Boma state governor David Yau Yau to stay away from the ongoing inter-communal violence in Pibor.
This came a day after Yau Yau warned Lou Nuer youth of “consequences” over their retaliatory attack against several villages in Pibor.
Speaking to Nyamilepedia this morning, a government source said Kiir made the warning during a phone call with Yau Yau on Tuesday afternoon.
“The president spoke with David Yau Yau and he warned him that he must stay away from the violence that is going on there,” the government official said on condition of anonymity.
“The government is working very hard to defuse the tensions there. These people are retaliating the kidnapping and killing of innocent civilians by Murle youth,” the official added.
