Machar along with deputy chairperson of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo – better known as Hemeti –arrived in Juba on Monday evening to discuss with Kiir the stalled implementation of the revitalized peace agreement the two signed last September.
Speaking to Nyamilepedia on Tuesday morning, a source inside Machar’s huge entourage to Juba said Kiir had asked Machar to remain in Juba until the formation of the reconstituted unity government due for November this year.
“He asked the Chairman and Commander in Chief to remain in Juba until the TGONU [Transitional Government of National Unity] is formed,” the source said with out disclosing what was Machar’s respond to the president’s request.
Another source told the Nyamilepedia that Kiir made the request as a joke moments before the two could make handshake outside their meeting room at the state house yesterday evening.
