September 23rd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has been urged to intervene over the detention of millionaire Lawrence Lual Malong Yor Jr who also calls himself ‘Young Tycoon.’

Yor is being detained in the Ugandan capital Kampala and is undergoing a court case against a South African businessman who claimed that he was led by Lual into a million-dollar scam.

In a statement on Sunday, Peter Mayuk, a South Sudanese social media user, urged President Salva Kiir’s government to intervene over the lengthy detention of Lual who he said was facing problems because of lack of legal representations in Uganda courts.

“Lawrence Lual Malong Yor Jr. needs our Embassy[‘s] help in Uganda and government intervention at large,” Mayuk said.

“Regardless whether is a good citizen acting on his own or not, what matter is that a citizen of south Sudan under international law require state protection,” he stressed.

Mayuk added that he received information from reliable sources who are in the southern neighbor that the rich young man is facing a lot of problems in Ugandan courts and was not being accorded legal assistance.

“I received information from friend that Lawrence Lual is facing serious problems in Uganda court due to luck of defender to defend him,” he said.
